If you're in the mood for kitschy look at the lighter side of sailing, you'll enjoy the hell out of this documentary! The self shot film follows three friends as they purchase an old sailboat from the repo dock, fix her up, and set sail to Haiti. Their adventure is free from the use of electronics, yacht clubs, and plumbing.
I really enjoyed the opening scenes in which they chronicle some of the early pioneers of minimalist sailing; their inspiration for the grand adventure in the first place. I will admit that I have always dreamed of being brave enough to try something like this. The film is available to stream online, or free for download. I've already squirreled it away in my collection for rainy day viewing!
