BMW Retires From the America's Cup - Ends Oracle Partnership / by Ryan

USA 17 - BMW Oracle Racing Yacht It's a sad day for sailing race fans. The prestigious BMW Oracle race team is coming to close. BMW has officially announced its exit from the America's Cup race team. Partnering with Oracle since 2002, the BMW Oracle yacht USA 17 holds the title as the fastest yacht in the history of the America's Cup, achieved in Valencia, Spain during the 33rd Match.

Earlier this month the team, led by skipper and Oracle CEO Larry Ellison, finished strong in the 44 season championship, taking an overall 4th place. Good luck, gents! I'm sure it won't be the last yacht we see Ellison champion.
